Siblings:Deidre is one of 5 children. She has an identical twin,Andrea Gengler,who played Marlena's evil twin,Samantha,in Days.Andrea also portayed the role of Hattie on Days. Her brother,Terry, was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome.

Love life: Married to Keith Barbour(1972-1977) ; Married to Michael Dubelko (1987-1989). Married Dr. Steve Sohmer on New year's eve 1991 in a traditional ceremony held in a 17th English manor house.

Children: Proud mother of two boys: David Atticus( born23 August 1992) and Tully Chapin (born 19 January 1995). Both boys were miracle babies via Surrogate moms.

Pets: Deidre's family have many pets namely:Freckles;the Basset hound, Peeps & Percy;the house cats and Dennis;the squirrel.
